Biography : Salman Khan is an Indian actor, producer, television presenter, and philanthropist. Infamously known as Bollywood’s bad boy, as Salman Khan hails from a notable filmy family. He is the eldest son of Salim Khan, who himself is a screenwriter, & his wife Salma Khan. Former Bollywood actress Helen is his stepmother. Arbaaz Khan, Sohail Khan, Alvira & Arpita are Salman Khan’s siblings. Actor/director Atul Agnihotri is Salman’s brother–in–law married to Alvira. Salman Khan has finished his schooling in Mumbai – St. Stanislaus High School – Bandra.
In 1988, Khan began his acting career with Biwi Ho To Aisi.
In 1989, Maine Pyar Kiya was the second film in which he acted in a lead role that garnered him the Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut. Maine Pyar Kiya was the biggest hit of 1989.

In 1995 he starred in Rakesh Roshan's Karan Arjun alongside Shahrukh Khan, Karan Arjun is a mix of an upbeat Bollywood musical, religious overtones and an action movie. The film was released on 13 January 1995. The film was the second biggest hit of the year, and his role of Karan once again put his name among the nominees for the Best Actor award for Filmfare Awards.

In 2011, Khan's first release was Ready.Upon release, Ready became the second highest opening day grosser, as well as the second highest weekend grossing Bollywood film at that time, after Dabangg, another Salman Khan-starrer. He next appeared in Bodyguard, India's highest-earning film of the year.
In 2012, Salman Khan's 2nd release is Dabangg 2 which is a sequel of his blockbuster Dabangg under production of Arbaaz Khan.
Khan has been involved in several charities during his career, ‘Being Human’ is his well known charitable organization. Salman is an excellent painter and swimmer. He often visits sick children in hospitals & donates blood. Khan is the fourth Indian to have a wax statue at the Madame Tussauds wax museum in London. Salman was arrested and jailed after allegedly shooting a rare black antelope near Jodhpur on 12th Oct, 1998.
He lives in Galaxy Apartments, Bandra, Mumbai. He also has a 150 acre plot in Panvel, which has 3 bungalows, swimming pool and gym. Khan is a dedicated bodybuilder. Khan has never married.
