This seems to a rough season for familial connections in Bollywood as soon after starlet Parineeti Chopra clarified her stand on cousin and diva Priyanka Chopra, it was Emraan Hashmi‘s turn to rubbish reports of a strain in his relationship with uncle Mahesh Bhatt.
Earlier reports had suggested that Bhatt was miffed with Emraan for giving preferential treatment to Kunal Deshmukh’s Raja Natwarlal over his production Mr. X.
The reports appeared after Emraan reworked his schedule to promote Raja Natwarlal instead of shooting for Mr. X.
The move reportedly upset Bhatt who wants to wrap up his project as soon as possible.
Incidentally, Emraan was launched in Bollywood by Bhatt who carefully nurtured his kisser-boy image and reaped the subsequent benefits through a series of steamy films.
“For selfish reasons, I am here to promote this film (‘Raja Natwarlal’) and they (Mahesh, Mukesh and Vikram Bhatt) have understood that. I thank them for that,” maintained Emraan while launching a song from Raja Natwarlal.
“Although we are facing problems, we are trying to make amendments. We are trying to divide the schedules (between ‘Raja Natwarlal’ and ‘Mr. X’) to strike the balance.” he added lending credence to the rumours.
Produced by Mahesh Bhatt, Mr. X is a supernatural thriller while Raja Natwarlal features Emraan as the legendary conman in a sexy avatar.
Raja Natwarlal hits the cinemas on Aug 29. It pairs Emraan with Pakistani model Humaima Malick.
