Debutant-directors Sajid-Farhad, who have written very successful Bollywood comedies like the Golmaal series, Dhamaal, and Housefull 2, after achieving success as writers, the duo have taken to film direction with their first venture ‘Entertainment’.
Story: Akhil Lokhande, played by Akhshay Kumar is struggling to find some money for his father but he realizes that the person for whom he is working day and night isn’t his real father. He come to know that one of the richest diamond merchants, Pannalal Johri is his real father but all his happiness and dreams to claim his right from Pannalal breaks when he comes to know that he is dead and has willed his entire property and wealth to a Dog named Entertainment.
Pannalal’s brother Karan and Arjun (played by Sonu Sood and Prakash Raj) also want the property. On the other hand, Akhil’s girlfriend Saakshi’s (Tamannaah) father (Mithun Chakraborty) too has a greed for the property. Sajid-Farhad’s directorial debut could have been more fresh, if they would have deducted intentional errors of comedy.
Performances: Akshay’s chemistry with the dog and the company is crackling while his performance is brilliant. Akshay and Tamannah look good.
Krushna Abhishek’s comic timing is brilliant. Sonu Sood and Prakash Raj along with Johny Lever did justice to their characters.
Music: Music by Sachin-Jigar is good. Johny Johny is a killer number. It has addictive beats that get you hooked at the first listening.
The soundtrack is one of the youngest sounding scores of an Akshay Kumar film. Entertainment’s music is entertaining but not extremely good.
