Long awaited official trailer of director Farah Khan’s Happy New Year was released Thursday, sending social media networks and YouTube in a tizzy with views and comments.
Produced by Red Chillies, The Shah Rukh Khan starrer is one of the biggest and the most-awaited movies of 2014 and is scheduled to hit the cinemas when the festive season peaks this Diwali.
The trailer focuses on the long star-cast, perhaps, in order of seniority and star-pull, and provides a preview of the visual extravaganza HNY promises to be.
Hype aside, the story and visuals are reminiscent of the 2002 Amitabh Bachchan starrer Kaante which saw Big B put together a team of people from various backgrounds to pull off a bank robbery. However, the trailer does hint at a twist in the tale.
Incidentally, Kaante itself was a rip-off of Quentin Tarantino’s Reservoir Dogs.
