Story: The honest and fearless Bajirao Singham (Ajay Devgn) is the DCP of Mumbai in Singham Returns. He is the same angry cop but now posted in a bigger city. Now there is an added quality which was not in prequal. He doesn’t even care about the law anymore.
A lot of steps that he takes are not in framework of the law. The investigation leads Singham to a dishonest Godman (Amol Gupte) and his partner in crime is a corrupt politician. Sadly, the issue-based plot is not executed well.
In the whole political backdrop, Anupam Kher is a honest politition who gets murdered and film revolves his murder investigation. It’s a good movie for action movies lovers and for Ajay fans. One can only hope that this is indeed the end, and another sequel isn’t lurking in the future.
Performances: Ajay Devgn’s persona is enough for gathering the audience, with his new physique he beats his enemies to pulp. Kareena’s role is minimal but she also brings some comic respite to the film. Gupte’s 80s style sadhu is perfect for Shetty’s comic-book style.
Music: But of late, the music in his films though not quite outstanding has also been appreciated Composer Jeet Ganguly gets his favorite singer Arijit Singh to croon Sun Le Zara, Ankit Tiwari’s Kuch To Hua Hai is a good one.
Overall, Singham Returns could’ve been a better album but its still good because there were not heavy expectations from it.
